For square or rectangular surfaces:

\[ V = (A \times d) \times (1 + c) \]

For circular or elliptical surfaces:

\[ V = (\pi \times \left(\frac{L}{2}\right)^2 \times D) \times (1 + c) \]

Where:

• \( V \) is the volume needed;
• \( A \) is the area;
• \( d \) is the depth;
• \( c \) is the wastage percentage.

To calculate the weight:

\[ W = V \times \rho \]

Where:

• \( W \) is the weight;
• \( \rho \) is the density of the rock.
